1. First of all I would like to congratulate you for your project Cosmic Dawn – Meera & Tiatha Scene is getting a huge notice by the film personnels. Seems like you are inspiring them so the festivals are trying to reach out to you. How do you feel about that?
Honestly, it feels good so many people are interested in my works, which is surprising, but in a good way, I enjoy working with festivals. I hope I get more opportunities to work with them more in the future.
2. What initially attracted you to the field of film production, and how did you get started in the industry?
I always enjoyed watching films and always dreamed about creating my own some day, but I truly got serious after a few bad years in my life. Falling in love with shows and movies that helped me past those bad years inspired me.
To create my own and, hopefully, I could give the same escapism to others as these shows have for me.
3. As we can see through your animated films are so good. What made you feel like creating such interesting animated films? Do you aspire to become a well known person in the animation?
I watch a lot of animated shows. I’m a huge fan of anime and cartoons, but after doing animation I realised how hard it really is haha, but if my series becomes known I’d be grateful for that .
4. How do you identify potential film projects for production?
Well, I started with CosmicDawn and it kind of just grew from there. I hope to create many more stories, but CD will always be my baby. haha
5. Have you ever thought of shifting into the Drama or Thriller genre? I am sure you will make good films.
Thank you, I’m one of those people. I love telling stories and I’d enjoy challenging myself to try different genres in the future, but right now I love telling fantasy and horror.
6. What strategies do you use for marketing and distribution to ensure a film’s success?
I just tell a story I think people will enjoy success. It is something at this moment I’m not too worried about. I’m at the stage where I just want to create and have fun. I’m sure success will come when it’s ready. Failure will happen when/if I stop haha.
7. Can you discuss any specific challenges you’ve encountered in your role as a filmmaker and how you’ve navigated them?
I always struggle with camera work, but I believe I’m getting better at that, but I still feel I have many challenges to overcome.
8. How do you handle feedback and criticism during the filmmaking process?
Criticism/feedback is important. You can learn from it. However, you have to be wary of some people. They don’t always have your best interest at heart. Some people just like causing drama, regardless of what you’re creating. It’s hard to know the difference sometimes.
9. What criteria do you consider when selecting film festivals or distribution platforms for your films?
I always get festivals interested in my works so it’s usually an easy process for me, I limit myself to how many I submit to a month but other than that I welcome anyone who wishes to work with me.
10. Can you share any upcoming projects or future aspirations as a director?
Right now, I have Cosmic Dawn and Blood of the cursed one in the works. I’m writing other shows/series because they are all apart from the same universe. I love shows like that.
